Making Shimenawa
Shimenawa is a Japanese traditional lucky charm that is hung on the front door of the house and on cars in New Year’s Day. The Mizuumi district is a famous area for Shimenawa production. Let’s try knitting straws (dried rice stems) to make Shimenawa under the guidance of expert craftsmen! It is also ideal as souvenirs.
